Jim Kozimor calls his program a “showgram” -- for good reason! Perhaps it’s his Midwest upbringing, or that "Koz" knows there's more to life than scores and stats. The "Showgram" is a nightly slice of life inside and outside of the games.
Of course, sports is how Koz makes a living. Jim is the play-by-play voice for the WNBA Champion Sacramento Monarchs. Now in his eighth season as a member of the Kings broadcast team, Jim is the host of "House Party Live" on Comcast SportsNet. You'll also hear Koz hosting the weekly "Kings Talk" program on Sports 1140 KHTK.
Kozimor began his broadcasting career in college at Michigan State University where he earned a bachelor's degree in communications. A native of Chicago, and a huge Cubs fan, he enjoys in-line hockey and ran and finished the 1995 Chicago Marathon. He resides in Sacramento with his wife, Sandra, and their gorgeous kids.
Sean Cunningham
Reporter / "Jim Kozimor Showgram" Producer / KHTK Blogger
Sean Cunningham has been a member of KHTK since 1998 when he started as an weekend intern. Sean began as a phone screener for "Golf Talk", "Netshow" (with hosts John Cassidy & former Kings Harold Pressley), and "The Insiders (with hosts Dana Jacobson of ESPN, "Coach T" Tom Abatemarco, & Scott Howard-Cooper of the Bee). It was "Golf Talk" host, Vince Mastracco who spotted Sean on the Celebrity Golf Tour interviewing celebrities for Elk Grove High School's news magazine. Cunningham eventually went on to cover Celebrity Golf, LPGA, and PGA events for "Golf Talk".
By 2000, Cunningham began a paid position of Sports 1140 KHTK as the afternoon, weekend board operator, running live sports programming such as Oakland A's, Raiders, UC Davis Football, and Sacramento Kings and Monarchs games. It was during this shift that Cunningham began producing the "En tha Dungeon" program with Frank Red, which he still runs today.
In 2001, Cunningham began his stint as KHTK's Kings & Monarchs reporter, covering each home game and practice, while taking over for Mark Demsky, who went to work for KTXL FOX 40. Some credit Sean's intrepid style and persistence for getting the job...but it was really a voice mail left for Cunningham's boss Mike Remy, by his good friend Chris Webber, who encouraged Mike to hire him as the locker room reporter. Sean has been behind some of the biggest stories broken on KHTK both as a reporter and producer. In 2004 he became KHTK's executive producer where he previously booked guests for "Sportsline with Grant Napear & Mike Lamb" and presently the "Jim Kozimor Showgram".
Sean, affectionately referred to as "Turtle" by Carmichael Dave, as in the character from "Entourage", considers himself to be a student of pop-culture. Sean's writing & contribution credits have been featured in Details Magazine, SLAM, Rolling Stone, and E! with features on Nelly Furtado, Samuel L. Jackson, Carson Daly, Don Cheadle, Jason Kidd, Chris Webber, and Ron Artest.
Cunningham is a proud graduate of Elk Grove High School, where he's always quick to point out that he graduated with NFL All-Pro Lance Briggs. He considers himself a product of community college and vows to one day commit to graduating with a degree in Broadcast Journalism. He is a life-long fan of "Saturday Night Live", the 49ers, SF Giants, and the NBA. Sean, 26, is single and resides in Elk Grove.
